Isaac Downs

Details: Mersa’s preliminary cost advice was well aligned with the tenders received for the proposed works. Our knowledge of the project and continuity from its inception meant Mersa was well positioned to advise on all quantum and cost-focused issues. Mersa’s ability to provide accurate and timely cost advice has been praised on numerous occasions by the management team at Stanmore Coal. 

Carrapateena Mine  

Client: OZ Minerals 

Location: Gawlor Craton, South Australia 

Services: Commercial management, contract administration, procurement assistance, tender assessment, change management, cost audit services, finance review and assistance, business plan drafting and execution 

Details: The Carrapateena Project consists of the mine accommodation village and airstrip, development of the duel access decline (2017-2018), above ground infrastructure, processing plant, tailings storage facility, western access road, power line and installation of the underground materials handling system (2018-2020). 

West Musgrave  

Client: OZ Minerals 

Location: Musgrave Province, Western Australia 

Services: Commercial management, contract administration, procurement assistance, tender assessment, change management, cost audit services, finance review and assistance, business plan drafting and execution 

Details: The West Musgrave project is currently in the construction phase. The mine is centred upon the extraction of copper and nickel using an open pit mining method. Non-process mine infrastructure is currently being delivered on the site. 

Olive Downs Mine  

Client: Sedgman CPB JV 

Location: Moranbah, Queensland 

Services: Contract Administration 

Details: The contract is for design, procurement, construction and commissioning of the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant. 

ICHTHYS Onshore LNG Facility  

Client: John Holland 

Location: Darwin, Northern Territory 

Services: Cost planning and control during the design phase 

Details: Civil works measurement of the civil and bulk earthworks, piling and foundations, structural steel and two LNG trains. Scope of works also involved LPG and condensate processing plants, administration facilities and power generation infrastructure. 

QCLNG Upstream Gas Facilities  

Client: Thiess 

Location: Surat Basin, Queensland 

Services: Measurement, estimation, contract administration and dispute resolution services 

Details: Mersa was appointed by Thiess to assist with measurement, estimation, contract administration and dispute resolution services. Mersa assisted Thiess with managing the substantial design growth throughout the project and provided substantiation for negotiations with QGC that saw the contract value increase from $600 million to $2.44 billion. The project comprised 20 field compressor stations, 4 process plants, evaporation ponds, trunklines, overhead transmission and 132kV substations.

APLNG WTF  

Client: CPB Contractors  

Location: Miles and Roma, Queensland 

Services: Measurement, contract administration, insurance claims, procurement and sub contractor dispute resolution 

Details: The project scope included bulk earthworks, establishing site camps, civil and structural engineering, piping (HDPE and GRP), electrical installations (LV & HV), construction of brine water storage ponds, road works, drainage, mechanical installations, instrumentation and commissioning works. 

Grosvenor Coal  

Client: BMD Constructions 

Location: Moranbah, Queensland 

Services: Dispute resolution 

Details: BMD Constructions was engaged by Anglo America to complete expansion and improvements works at Anglo America's Grosvenor Coal Mine. As a result of Anglo America varying BMD Constructions' scope of works, the two parties entered into dispute. GRC provided an independent assessment of costs.
