Tallawara Power Station

Details: Tallawarra Stage B will improve the power generation capabilities of the Tallawarra Stage A power station by 300+ MW. The project involves the construction of an Open Cycle Gas Turbine Power Plant including the system integration into the existing Tallawarra A power Station. Tallawarra B is the first peaking power station that has the capability to come online in 30min and produce enough power for 180,000 homes. The project included the construction of the HV switchyard, connecting gas pipelines, gas receiving and conditioning yard, control and admin buildings and unloading station.
Genex Kidston Connection Project

Details: Powerlink was engaged by Genex to deliver a 275kV electricity transmission line and two associated switching stations to connect Genex's renewable energy generation project at Kidston to the national electricity grid. Mersa was engaged by Powerlink to act on their behalf as the client-side commercial administrator.
CopperString 2032

Details: CopperString 2032 initially involves building 840 kilometres (km) of new electricity transmission line from Mount Isa to near Townsville. It will connect Queensland’s North West Minerals Province to the National Electricity Market for the first time in Australia’s history. Approximately 200km of additional transmission line will be required to connect new renewable generators to CopperString 2032. The project includes transmission lines, substation sites, and associated infrastructure to support this new development.
Kidston Pumped Hyro

Details: The Kidston Pumped Hydro Project is an innovative project that involves the world-first conversion of a disused gold mine into a pump storage hydroelectric power generation facility. It has the potential to generate up to 250MW of rapid response, flexible power to Australia's National Electricity Market. The project involves the conversion of two existing mine pits into reservoirs. The construction involves significant underground infrastructure, including a large powerhouse cavern, and waterway shafts and tunnels to allow the transfer of water between the upper and lower reservoirs.
Lake Lyell Pumped Hyrdo

Details: Energy Australia is investigating the feasibility of a utility-scale pumped hydro energy storage project on land and waterways it owns near Lithgow, in NSW. The project would use water from Lake Lyell (a man-made lake originally built to support local power stations), existing transmission infrastructure, and see the development of a purpose-built upper reservoir behind the southern ridge of Mount Walker.
Clarke Creek Substation Extension

Details: The project scope of works includes for the extension of Powerlink's existing Clarke Creek Substation to accommodate for new power demands associated with the Clarke Creek Wind Farm project (currently under construction). The substation extension include for constructing additional bays and installing additional plant to facilitate for the increased demand on this substation.
Pipers Flat Rail Coal Unloading Facility

Details: Energy Australia owns and operates the Mount Piper Power Station located near Portland, approximately 25 kilometres (km) north-west of Lithgow. The coal-fired power station generates up to 1,400 megawatts of electricity, enough to power up to 1.2 million average Australian homes. The power station supplies approximately 15% of NSW energy demands. The project scope of works includes the construction and operation of a rail loop, coal unloader and coal conveyor system to allow coal trains to deliver coal to the Mt Piper Power Station.
Macintrye Wind Precinct Connection Project

Bulli Creek Substation
