West Camden STP

Details: The existing Water Camden Sewer Treatment Plant is currently at 150% capacity and contains aging infrastructure. The BMD Downer JV has been tasked with designing and constructing a new state of the art WTP adjacent the existing facility. At the completion of the new work, most of the existing facility will be made redundant.
Aura and Harmony Infrastructure Program

Details: Unity Water has awarded a $200 million contract to McConnell Dowell, which includes the installation of over 12km of 900mm diameter pipe and a sewer pump station to upgrade the current wastewater system for the new Aura development. Additionally, 12km of 800mm diameter pipe will connect the Ewen Maddock dam to a new 12ML reservoir. The project furthermore includes 2.2km of new 500mm pipe will connect the new 12ML reservoir to the Harmony development. The new infrastructure will support expansion of the Sunshine Coast developments currently planned to grow by 71,000 residents by 2050.
Fitzroy to Gladstone Pipeline

Details: The Fitzroy to Gladstone Pipeline addresses the single source water supply risk from Awoonga Dam and enable long-term water security for Gladstone Area Water Board’s customers. The pipeline will also support future water for Gladstone’s emerging hydrogen and renewables industry. The 117-kilometre pipeline will run from the Lower Fitzroy River in Rockhampton and connect to Gladstone Area Water Board’s existing water network at Yarwun. The pipeline comprises a water treatment plant, reservoirs and pumping stations at locations along its alignment including Laurel Bank, Alton Downs and Aldoga.
Cairns Water Security Stage 1

Details: Cairns Regional Council has awarded John Holland the $320m design and construct contract for the CWSS1 Draper Water Treatment Facility project. The project includes for the construction of water pipelines, holding lagoons, freshwater tanks, and water treatment facilities.
Beaudesert Water Supply Upgrade

Details: The Beaudesert Water Supply Upgrade (BWSU) will provide a long-term water supply solution for the Scenic Rim, supporting continued population and economic growth. Comdain Infrastructure (part of the Service Stream Group), on behalf of Seqwater, has been constructing the South West Pipeline (SWP), which will connect Beaudesert to the SEQ Water Grid. The $95 million, 27 km pipeline, will ensure a reliable long-term water supply for the Scenic Rim by making it easier to move water into the region when needed.
Coombabah STP

Details: The Coombabah STP is the largest within the City of Gold Coast, processing approximately 50 per cent of the city’s sewage. This important upgrade is required to cater for the significant population growth expected in the catchment over the next ten years. The project includes the design and construction of a new preliminary treatment and odour control facility, new bioreactors and clarifiers, disinfection system, waste sludge thickening and dewatering facilities, in addition to site utilities, roadworks, drainage and landscaping.
Paradise Dam Improvement Project

Details: Paradise Dam will be returned to its original height, as part of significant safety improvement works. The project includes for buttressing with mass concrete across the primary and secondary dam spillways and left abutment wall, new training walls, extending the existing downstream apron, and raising and replacing sections of the secondary spillway.
